Adligenswil, Switzerland, March 2023 – Sekisui Alveo, European manufacturer of high-quality polyolefin foams, has announced the withdrawal of its chemically crosslinked block foam product Alveolux from the market by end of September 2023.

Continuous review of the product portfolio has led to the conclusion to stop the production and sales of this product range. Since several years now, production costs for Alveolux have continuously increased, as the process is highly labour intensive. Furthermore, Alveolux production generates more waste when compared to roll foam production and therefore represents the least environmentally friendly process in the company.

In its current status the Alveolux production process and utilities require a significant renewal and replacement to meet modern production and sustainability standards. After careful review Sekisui Alveo has decided not to make such investments and as a consequence withdraws the product from the market.
