Fabrication Guide
Extensive styling and design is possible by easy, fast and flexible fabrication of Alveolit and Alveolen. Besides skiving, die cutting, embossing, bonding, heat welding, lamination to textiles/non wovens/films it is possible to form the foam by means of pressforming. By heating the pre-cut laminate the foam will soften and can be easily formed to the desired shape by pressmoulding the part between two moulds. After cooling, die cutting of the moulded complex is carried out.
Product Guide
The following foam types are suitable for mats:
- Alveolit: TA, TE in 25 - 33 kg/m3 density
- Alveolen: NA, NE, NEE in 28 - 50 kg/m3 density, NES, NSR II
Typical range of thickness: 5 - 20 mm. According to the desired comfort and performance Alveolit and Alveolen are available with different properties (qualitative comparison within a single density class):
| Alveolit | TA | TE | TEE | ||
| Alveolen | NA | NE | NEE | NES | NSR II |
| Softness/Elasticity/Flexibility | + | ++ | +++ | ++++ | +++++ |
| Hardness/Stiffness/Rigidity | ++++ | +++ | ++ | + | + |
| Temperature Stability | ++++ | +++ | ++ | + | + |
| Tear Strength | + | ++ | +++ | +++ | +++ |
| Compression set* | +++ | ++ | + | + | + |
*The higher the number of crosses, the lower the compression set and the higher the overall rating.
