Alveolit, Alveolen

Mats

Application

Alveolit and Alveolen are ideally suitable for use as:

where comfort and light weight are required.

Product description

Alveolit and Alveolen are light weight, resilient, soft elastic, crosslinked closed cell polyolefin (PE) foams.

Through a great variety of types, colours and grades (densities) it is possible to meet individual requirements for specific applications.

Features & Benfits

crosslinked PE foam

low density

soft/elastic

closed cell

free of CFC’s plasticizers of heavy metal compounds

Fabrication Guide

Extensive styling and design is possible by easy, fast and flexible fabrication of Alveolit and Alveolen. Besides skiving, die cutting, embossing, bonding, heat welding, lamination to textiles/non wovens/films it is possible to form the foam by means of pressforming. By heating the pre-cut laminate the foam will soften and can be easily formed to the desired shape by pressmoulding the part between two moulds. After cooling, die cutting of the moulded complex is carried out.

Product Guide

The following foam types are suitable for mats:

Typical range of thickness: 5 - 20 mm. According to the desired comfort and performance Alveolit and Alveolen are available with different properties (qualitative comparison within a single density class):

Alveolit TA TE TEE
Alveolen NA NE NEE NES NSR II
Softness/Elasticity/Flexibility   + ++ +++ ++++ +++++
Hardness/Stiffness/Rigidity ++++ +++ ++ + +
Temperature Stability ++++ +++ ++ + +
