What is TPO?
- TPO = Thermo Plastic Olefin elastomer (one of the definitions found in technical literature).
- Blends of polyethylene (PE) + polypropylene (PP) and an elastomeric part (E.g. EPDM) to provide softness
- TPO can be laminated to crosslinked PE or PP foams to form a TPO laminate
- Films can be produced by extrusion or calandering
- Plasticizer free
- Low in weight
- Can be used for coverstock applications in car interiors: door panels, dashboards, seat backs, console trim
Why this TPO Section?
Sekisui Alveo wishes:
- to create an interest in TPO laminates for use in car interiors and other applications
- to promote the use of TPO laminates in car interiors and other applications
- to explain the use of TPO laminates in car interiors
- to offer their competence in the use of crosslinked polyolefin foams in car interiors
