Soft foam for the pool

Swimming pool liner from Sekisui Alveo enhances comfort and bathing fun and is easy to convert.

Lucerne, Switzerland, 17 February 2009 – The swimming pool as a wellness oasis and place of relaxation – this trend has increased clearly in recent years. But hard building materials such as steel, concrete or tiles barely convey the feel-good atmosphere wanted by the customer. Sekisui Alveo, manufacturer of polyolefin foams, has developed in cooperation with swimming pool designers a soft material solution, which greatly enhances comfort and convenience in the pool. Floors, walls and stairs are covered and bonded with rolls of the Alveolen NS foam. The foam can be adapted to the pool shape without any difficulty. Besides simple converting, the long-life foam provides all required material characteristics such as negligible water absorption and chemical resistance. The pleasantly soft surface enhances the feel-good factor and reduces the risk of injury at the same time. Moreover, the foam insulates the swimming pool – which has a positive impact on energy costs.
