Alveolit

Alveolit - physically crosslinked, closed cell polyolefin foams, produced in continuous sheets, vertically foamed with two identical process skins.

Density range*: 25 - 330 kg/m³
Thickness range*: 0.20 - 8 mm
Width range*:  1000 - 2200 mm

*depending on type/grade

Main characteristics of Alveolit

  • thickness range between 0.20 and 8 mm (single layer). Multi-layer up to 40 mm
  • excellent physical properties
  • available as flame retardant type (in accordance with German DIN 4102 - B1 and B2, French M1, Italian CSE/RF3, Automotive FMVSS 302, etc.)
  • choice of softness, depending on type and grade
  • fine regular, closed-cell structure
  • excellent thermoplastic properties, in particular vacuum and pressforming characteristics
  • wide working temperature range
  • excellent thermal insulation characteristics
  • very good impact sound insulation properties
  • low water absorption values
  • very low water vapour permeability
  • good weatherability
  • inert to a wide range of chemicals
  • no odour
  • ecologically and chemically neutral
  • safe disposal by recycling, dumping or incineration

Types

Alveolit types are defined by specific characteristics and based on different formulations:

  • TA*/** standard type
  • TA FRZ German construction agreement (´Bauaufsichtliche Zulassung´)
  • DIN 4102-B1/l= 0.040
  • TA IL FRZ German construction agreement (´Bauaufsichtliche Zulassung´)
  • DIN 4102-B1/l= 0.035 (improved lambda values)
  • TA FRO flame retardant according French M1
  • TA SAN Sanitized ", with anti-microbial properties
  • TE*/** soft elastic type
  • TEE*/**/*** super soft elastic type
  • THL SR special lamination type
  • TL, TLV*/** improved vacuumformability and toughness
  • TLA special improved vacuumformability
  • TLG more flexibility and improved dimensional stability
  • TMA SR improved flexibility and toughness
  • TME SR improved flexibility and softness
  • TP FR, PP foam, fulfilling FMVSS302 with low density and reduced thickness potential
  • TPO, PP foam, with improved softness including high temperature stability
  • TP SMK, TP LPM, TP LPX, PP foam, especially for Low Pressure Injection Moulding (LPM) processes
  • TP SPV, PP foam, especially for vacuumforming applications
  • TP VX, TP VF, PP foam, especially for improved vacuumforming performance
  • TT* improved dimensional stability compared with TA, TL

* also available as flame retardant type (e.g. FR, FRS, FRB)
** also available as S type (modified for adhesive coating)
*** also available as SR type (special type for adhesive coating)
