Hidden assistants in world premiers at IAA Cars
Adaptable foams by Sekisui Alveo cut weight and noise in cars
Lucerne, August, 2007 – "Less weight means fuel savings and lower CO2 emissions" – this is currently a key principle for automakers, and it makes foam an interesting variable that offers significant savings potential. Although unspectacular, lightweight foam components are increasingly replacing heavy and rigid plastics in interiors, motor compartments and wheelhouse covers. But only few foam products possess all the properties needed to optimally provide both acoustic and thermal insulation. Polyolefin foam manufacturer Sekisui Alveo will be present for the first time at IAA Cars, to be held in Frankfurt from September 11 to 23, 2007 (Hall 4.1, Booth E06). The company will be showing many innovative products and developments for the automotive industry – several of which are built into world premiers to be unveiled at IAA Cars.
