Sekisui Alveo presents at K 2007 with big plans for the future

Lucerne, 31 January 2008 – Lightweight design has increasingly become the focus of attention in the automotive industry in view of the current debates on CO2 reduction and rising fuel prices. At the VDI conference "Plastics in Automotive Engineering" in Mannheim from 5 — 6 March 2008, Sekisui Alveo, a manufacturer of polyolefin foams, will present its innovative and flexible solutions for lightweight components. The wide range of applications extends from "soft-touch" instrument panels and door panels right through to flame resistant engine undershields and lightweight air ducts. The foam types used for these applications, Alveolen and Alveolit, not only fulfil the requirements of the automotive industry regarding comfort and safety, they also offer significant weight savings. They are therefore being used in increasing numbers of cases to replace rigid plastics – without any loss of functionality. During the VDI conference, experts from the Automotive Business Unit of Sekisui Alveo will be at booth 34a to pLucerne, October 8, 2007 – Just a year after its successful re-branding, Sekisui Alveo is presenting itself to the plastics world with a new name, new CEO and new visions for the future at K 2007 in Düsseldorf. The leading manufacturer of polyolefin foams with head office in Lucerne, Switzerland, plans to extensively expand business over the next years.
