What is TPO?

  • TPO = Thermo Plastic Olefin elastomer (one of the definitions found in technical literature).
  • Blends of polyethylene (PE) + polypropylene (PP) and an elastomeric part (E.g. EPDM) to provide softness
  • TPO can be laminated to crosslinked PE or PP foams to form a TPO laminate
  • Films can be produced by extrusion or calandering
  • Plasticizer free
  • Low in weight
  • Can be used for coverstock applications in car interiors: door panels, dashboards, seat backs, console trim

Why this TPO Section?
